Terms of service

These terms set out the agreement between you and Essex French Polishing for French polishing and related wood finishing services. They apply to bookings, on-site work and workshop collection.

Scope of work

We provide French polishing using shellac applied by pad application, pumice pore filling where specified and final buffing. The written quote lists the agreed scope, proposed timings and whether work is on-site or via workshop collection.

Customer responsibilities

You must provide accurate details and any requested photographs to allow an assessment. Allow safe access for on-site work and follow the written aftercare guidance supplied after completion.

Booking and payment

A written, itemised quote is provided after inspection or photos. Payment terms and any cancellation charges are set out on the quote.

Liability and disclaimers

We will carry out the agreed work with reasonable care according to the written scope. We do not guarantee preservation of original patina where prior damage or full restoration is required. Our liability for direct loss arising from the agreed work is limited to the amount charged for that specific work.

Photos and records

We may take photographs of the work for records and to communicate during the job. You may ask us to remove images that identify you by contacting us through the website contact form.

Governing law and disputes

Any dispute should be raised promptly in writing via the website contact form. Disputes will be dealt with under the applicable law where the business operates.
